Little Coiled Baskets with Fiona Hammond

Suitable for All Skill Levels, ages 16+

Discover the simple yet effective craft of coiling—using craft cord, colourful yarns and a sewing needle—as you create a small coiled item, such as a small bowl, basket or flat object.

This workshop is a great way to begin your coiling journey – covering all you need to know to get started! It is for all skill levels, though a bit of experience using a needle and thread is an advantage.

Instruction in alternate ways to finish the coiled item will also be covered.

The techniques covered can be used to create many other items, including jewellery!

Approx. $25 (payable directly to the tutor) includes ALL consumable materials and most tools needed for this workshop

  • Printed and bound workshop notes
  • 10 metres of white, cotton-covered, core cord
  • 2 x size 18 chenille needles, plus 1 x regular sewing needle, in plastic tube
  • Selection of yarns in good variety of colours, some tapestry wool and some acrylic yarn
  • Selection of possible embellishments, e.g. beads, buttons, charms, feathers, etc.

Additional requirements:
