Sunday 25 August: 10am-4pm

Suitable for All Skill Levels, ages 18+
Class limited to 6 people only

Explore the creative aspects of Gel plate and mono printing. (Single print). Printmaking is almost a magical process. Using a Gelli® or Gelatine plate as your working surface you will create prints using; native leaf litter we find in the grounds surrounding the workshop, magazine images and text, oil pastels, card or plastic shapes and varying other found objects.
There will be the opportunity for you to develop simple prints or multi layered artworks. The workshop will also assist you in creating collages from your prints using glue and/or stitch. You will discover how design and intention can inform art. You will be guided towards curating your prints into varying forms, from cards to bookmarks or book forms to a simple vessel or framed art.

  • On Day One you will see how the different methods of printmaking work and start to create some single layer gel prints. In the afternoon, you will begin working with multiple layers and learn how to print with magazines and other techniques.
  • On Day Two techniques will include experiments with mono prints, collage, mixed media and stitch.
To finish, you will be able to mount your best prints or turn them into small artists’ books.
