Margo-Lynne has been stitching most of her life. It wasn’t until early the 2000’s that she began to take embroidery seriously. She began experimenting with traditional embroidery stitches using a variety of threads on different textile surfaces.
Margo-Lynne is well known for her use of bright coloured threads and her abstract designs in her textile work. The experience of using a few basic stitches in different ways is the success of achieving a beautiful piece of contemporary embroidery. Margo-Lynne worked as a Volunteer at the Akira Isogawa Exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum in 2019, demonstrating embroidery skills to the public in the Maker’s Space. She has also taught the ‘Small Wonders – Dorset Brooch’ Workshop at The Australian Design Centre in 2021.
Margo-Lynne was a member of the untethered fibre artists for 10 years and has exhibited her textile art both nationally and internationally. At present, she is working on her last module of embroidery for the Certificate of Technical Hand Embroidery with the Royal School of Needlework, London.
Margo-Lynne’s passion and goal is to pass on the love of hand stitching to the next generation.
