Make a piece of wearable art with Fiona Hammond

Suitable for All Skill Levels, ages 16+
Play with beautiful cotton fabrics (some are traditional Japanese fabrics) plus pearl cotton threads to hand-stitch your own Litte Fabric Brooch. These brooches incorporate simple hand-stitching plus layering of fabrics to achieve a creatively rustic appearance. Embellishments such as beads or charms may also be added as focal points.
Your tutor, Fiona Hammond, will assist anyone who needs to learn some hand-sewing techniques.
What you will learn:
- How to select suitable fabrics for your brooch
- Layering fabric pieces to create an interesting small brooch
- Embellishing the brooch with beads or charms etc
- General construction techniques for the brooch, including stitching the brooch pin to the back
All you need to bring is a ruler, regular pen and sharp scissors.
This is a one-day workshop in Huskisson, NSW
Materials fee of $25 payable directly to the tutor, for all the materials and tools you need to make your brooches.
